SECTION 1: About Wolf Whiskers and where to start?: #1 Q: Can you tell me more about Wolf Whiskers? A: Wolf Whiskers is a solely owned and operated hobby/micro business model by me, Peter Wolf, making custom made shaving brushes since 2013 and shipping them Worldwide. I am the only person involved with Wolf Whiskers from conception to birth. I hand cast most of my turning materials. I hand turn 100% of my brush handles on a lathe, (no automation or computers involved). I even hand assemble and package each brush. I am the only person with whom you would ever communicate, and I answer all correspondence within the same day, often within the same hour. I even create and edit 100% of the website development. 95% of the Wolf Whiskers shaving brush handles you see were made to order, custom requested brushes attained through a "Waitlist" process. #2 Q: Why do you even have a "wait list" and why not just keep the list open? A: Waiting is frustrating. I am simply unable to keep up with orders if I were to keep the list open. #3 Q: Where do I start? How do I get one of the Wolf Whiskers shaving brushes? A: Ordering custom designed items can be a daunting task, but it doesn't need to be. I am 100% approachable everyday, even holidays, and always reply to correspondence. My goal is to be approachable and take the sting out of the process if I am able to. It is my passion. #1 Q: What is the price of one of your shaving brushes? A: The fully explained and best answer is found on the Price link found on the menu.
#2 Q: My postman leaves my packages occasionally in front of my door step and I don't trust my neighbors. What should I do? A: Get Delivery signature confirmation which requires them to prove it was delivered. Remember, stray dogs love the smell of badger and can sense this miles away. Curiosity may intrigue them to come visit your front door. PayPal and USPS will not provide any compensation or validate a claim if tracking shows the package delivered. I know this to be true.
#3 Q: When and How do I pay? A: Wolf Whiskers is fairly unique and prepayment is rarely requested. A PayPal invoice is sent after the handle is turned and pictures sent. Other arrangements may be requested ahead of time. I can accept cash, checks, credit card payments
SECTION 3: PROCESS AND AVAILABILITY
#1: Q Do you have any brushes currently made in stock? A: Not very often. Rarely, in fact.
#2: Q How many brushes can I order after signing up on the waitlist? A: One brush per signed up name.
#3 Q: Can I get my brush made sooner than your estimated time? A: I used to offer this option. Not anymore. I simply am not able to.
SECTION 4: ABOUT MY CUSTOM CONFIGURATION PROCESS
#1 Q: Do you do custom color requests? A: Yes, as much as it might be possible, Wolf Whiskers will do a custom color request. However, you MUST be flexible on color shades and quantities or how it turns out. The subtle differences in photography, photographic editing and enhancements, human eyesight, lighting and computer monitors all make it extremely difficult to match a colors you may like most. I also only entertain up a maximum of 4 colors swirled together. 2 to 3 colors work best, IMHO. Some colors do not blend well and occasionally one will overtake or dominate the other colors. Your best bet is to inquire with me. I will provide you with answers to the best of my experience. If you like the color stacking, tiering, two tone look or three tiers, you will notice with many of those brushes that there is often some color bleeding from one layer to the next layer. This is due to the exothermic reaction that occurs during casting one layer upon another layer. Casting the layers together is better than any glue on the market and it ensure 100% permanent adhesion. However, the exothermic reaction also draws colors from one layer to the next layer in very subtle amounts. Unlike some vintage handles where the two parts come apart, it will not come apart when they are cast together. I cannot avoid this, so if bleeding might be displeasing for you, please avoid ordering anything with a stacked layering. I simply haven't found a way to avoid this yet I will only do Translucent or clear resin on the bottoms of the brush handles. It simply gets ugly on the top where the knot enters the handle. The interior of that socket hole is scored up with drill marks and then the glue adds additional displeasing appearances. Also please note, translucent resin sometimes traps tiny imperfections such as tiny particle debris, tiny bubbles or dye pigments "dots." These dots, particles or tiny trapped bubbles rarely, if ever, become larger than the tip a thumbtack. If there are more than 3 dots, I don't even show you the pictures and that triggers a remake before you even see the handle. It is the exception that this happens excessively, but there are always some that you will see if you blow up the photo images or use a magnifying glass. Anything that is excessive will be redone by me so if I make a brush and send you pictures, I have considered it acceptable. But, if this might be unattractive to you, it would be most advisable to choose an opaque color theme that hides these characteristics. Typically a $8-15USD additional fee to your brush will be added for custom options. I no longer take requests for Inside out series. #2 Q: Can you get items like challenge coins or small coins to put on the bottom of my brush? A: Ethically, Wolf Whiskers has chosen not to procure trademarked items to put on the handles. For obvious reasons if I sold a brush with a Trademarked golf marker coin for an NFL team for example, potential lawsuits could certainly be possible. Customers may send an item that they own if it fits. Max size for a medallion/coin is around 24mm in diameter for most handle shapes. Larger coins may be placed on some handles like the Beehive or Chubby or PJ or PJ2. Any brush using a Franchise product. can never be sold as a franchise item.
#3 Q: Can I take one of your handle designs and change the shape to make it unique? A: It is really a case by case consideration.

#1 Q: Do you use Synthetic knots as well? A: Yes, Wolf Whiskers has several synthetic options both from TGN and several synthetic knots Nathan Clark (Ubersoft). I also have 24mm and 25mm "Black Wolf" bulb and fan knots and also my "Super Plush" line.
#2 Q: Can you remove a knot for me and put it into one of your handles? A: Case by case. Contact me about details.
#3: Q: What knots do you use? A: Primarily The Golden Nib (TGN) and some synthetics that I procured. I also use knots from Nathan Clark called "Ubersoft" and Envy White knots when in stock. If you are concerned about your knot shedding at all, please send me your favorite knot supplier that you trust. You are always welcome to send me your favorite knot if I am able to use it.
#4 Q: Can you make me just the handle for a knot? A: Remember, each knot has characteristics different from others, the variance can be extremely different even amongst knots rated the same size or even supplied by the same vendor. It is often necessary for you to have a few shop tools for minor adjustments, like a Dremel, drill press or Forstner bits for example. Wolf Whiskers will not guarantee that your knot will fit inside the WW handle, but will prepare a handle per your request. All I need is the diameter (in millimeters) of the hole you want and the depth.
#5 Q: Can I ship you my own brush knot and have you make a brush with it? A: Yes, Wolf Whiskers can set most knots available with some exceptions. Please inquire.
6 Q: Can I just have a knot manufacturer send a knot directly to Wolf Whiskers? A: It is always better that you see the knot first so you know exactly what you are getting. Wolf Whiskers will set the knot you send, but know there are some discrepancies on knot characteristics from one vendor to another even amongst the same grades of knots. Because if this, it is very strongly encouraged for you to take delivery first as I don't always know what to expect from one vendor to the next and can not guarantee those vendors sent the knot you believe you were ordering.
#7 Q: Can I just buy a knot directly from you? A: The Golden Nib, Envy Shave, Maggards, APshave, Elite Razor, Declaration Brushworks are great sources within the USA for shaving brush knots. Wolf Whiskers does not market shaving brush knots.
#8 Q: Will you procure knots for me and use them for a requested shaving brush? A: At this time, I only procure animal hair knots from American vendors of badger hair knots due to significant fees for a commercial entities governed by the Fish and Wildlife Service.
#9 Q: I'm concerned about shedding with the knots you carry? A: Some knots do shed more than others, but there are tens of thousands of hairs in every brush knot. Many knots have over a hundred thousand hairs. Although it is annoying, it is more common than you would think even with the expensive brushes. It is normal after the manufacturing process to get some shedding. Care and use can affect shedding too. Care instructions are provided with your brush. If you are concerned with shedding from knots I carry, please buy your favorite knot and I will set it for you. I can not guarantee a knot will not shed for you. Please, if you are concerned, purchase your own knot and arrange to ship it to me.
#10 Q: How much to have WW replace a knot? A: This is something I simply do not know how to do.
SECTION 7: QUESTIONS CONCERNING SHIPPING
#1 Q: Can I ship my brush to someone else or a different address that I used when paying the PayPal invoice? A: No, It is important that you select the address to which you want your brush sent correctly when paying. WW will not change addresses to alternative locations other than the address you choose when paying. I have done this in the past and too often the package mysteriously never arrives at the corrected address and the responsibility is to the seller only for the lost product. You, the buyer, assume no legal responsibility for the lost packages when I change addresses. I am way too small to absorb those losses. PayPal only protects the seller when the seller ships to the address used to pay the invoice. Please understand and put yourself in my shoes. Please take a few minutes to ensure that the address to where you want your brush sent is selected before you pay the invoice. This is especially important for international shipments.
#2 Q: I didn't get a tracking number. Do you have one? A: Tracking is available for ALL package shipments within the USA. The PayPal transaction within your "Activity" link for your PayPal profile will have a link for your transaction including tracking.. If you cannot find the tracking link in PayPal, please let us know and I can share it with you.
#3 Q: How do you ship the brush? A: Since the shipping is included in the price of the brush, nearly all packages are shipped using USPS First Class rates. CONUS shipping typically takes 2-4 days. The brushes are packed in a very heavily constructed and durable presentation box and again packed into a shipping box that can take a serious beating without allowing any damage. I have never had a package damaged during shipping in over 4 years.. Signature confirmation is automatically included for all brushes with a value of $110 or more. Signature confirmation is also an customer option for a lesser value. Signature confirmation protects both you and me for shipping issues. Also, shipping your package to your work address is also ideal especially during the holiday season. All orders are shipped via US Postal, 1st class mail & Priority mail, with delivery confirmation. We are not responsible for lost of damaged goods in the mail system if your product tracking shows it was delivered.
#4 Q: How do you ship international packages? A: THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT ALL INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS READ AND UNDERSTAND THIS 1) International packages are shipped with USPS First Class or Priority International rates. The rates for First class are typically less than $15USD for a shaving brush only and about $23USD when you add anything other than a single shaving brush. This is due to the additional combined weight. Priority International rates are approximately $31.50USD. A few countries do not process First Class rated packages and only accept Priority rate.
2) All international packages require a Custom's Declaration page. (PS Form 2976). These pages WILL show my shaving brush as Merchandise with the description as "Shaving Brush, Synthetic Fibers only" since I never ship Badger hair outside of the USA. It will also show the value in US dollars openly on the outside of the box. This is 100% unavoidable as it is US law to fill out this information. I will not place gift or declare lower values on these forms to avoid importing taxes or custom fees from foreign countries. I value my integrity as a vital component of Wolf Whiskers. Please do not ask me to be "Customer Friendly" and to list a lower monetary value to save on custom fees. It offends me and I will not violate laws or my integrity and risk losing everything for which I have worked hard.
3) Tracking is now available for all packages including International shipments, but tracking is only as good as the people with the scanners in their hands so there is often human error with timely scans.
4) I CANNOT and WILL NOT be responsible for lost parcels outside of the USA either First class international or Priority rate. Once USPS mail reaches an international parcel carrier, the chain of custody has been transferred. For USPS First class packages or even Flat Rate Priority packages, I cannot even attempt to make a lost or damaged inquiry with the US Postal Service. These shipments simply are not covered per the USPS Publication 370 which is found at the USPS website. If your package is shipped USPS Priority International "parcel," I am able to make an inquiry, but if the package is shown as delivered, the USPS claim will not be entertained by the USPS or PayPal and claims are not issued. Neither will PayPal entertain claims for packages that are showing the status of "delivered." As a result, There are NO REFUNDS for lost International packages, so order at your own risk. Wolf Whiskers is not an international forwarding shipping service and is a very small entity. I only ship the packages to the address that is provided with the PayPal payment. I never change the address, so it is vital that the customer choose a valid and correct shipping address.
5) Often shipment might take several weeks to over a month due to customs and multiple postal systems. Packages may be stuck in customs long periods in some countries. If this occurs to you, contact your customs office. I cannot control the processes that Customs have within your country. We do not have any recourse with postal delivery systems outside if the USA. Fortunately, I have never had an international package lost to date, so odds are good you will receive your order as expected.

#5 Q: My postal deliveries are not placed in a secure location or in front of my door, what are my options? A: Get delivery confirmation or have me ship your package to your work address which is also ideal especially during the holiday season.. USPS, PayPal nor Wolf Whiskers can cover for stolen products that are shown delivered. Also remember, dogs have an amazing sense of smell, some better than others and they can smell the badger hair from several blocks away. They may come and find your package. Signature confirmation will require the delivery person to hand it directly to you. Signature confirmation is automatically included for all brushes with a value of $120 or greater.
#6 Q: Can you ship Badger hair brushes outside of the USA? A: No, Wolf Whiskers is defined as a Commercial entity by the Fish and Wildlife Service. As a commercial entity, The Fish and Wildlife Service requires an inspection fee that costs more than a shaving brush for EVERY shipment that contains anything made with animal hair, even a single brush. Wolf Whiskers cannot ship any badger hair products or import them without this fee and permit. So, since the fee costs more than the product, international shipments of animal hair is not optional.
#7 Q: My postman leaves my packages occasionally in front of my door step. What should I do? A: Get Delivery signature confirmation or establish your PayPal shipping address designated to your work address. See questions above. The holiday season brings out larger numbers of "porch pirates."
#8 Q: Should I use signature confirmation even though I feel that I have a secure delivery location? (only available for USA addresses) A: Yes, ideally you should. The only way that I can make a claim for lost or stolen or misplaced shipments is if you have signature confirmation included in your shipment. If the $2.55 price is a concern, I will gladly wave this cost to ensure you are covered. Sadly, USPS insurance will not cover for lost or stolen packages if it is shown to be delivered.
#9 Q: I use a USA based shipping service for international shipments. How do I proceed? A: Signature confirmation will be required. Once the package is shown as delivered to the shipping service, the package is considered shipped. WE CANNOT be responsible for lost parcels outside of the USA or lost by the shipping service. NO REFUNDS for lost International packages, so order at your own risk. We do not have any recourse with postal delivery systems outside if the USA. Fortunately, I have never had an international package lost that was sent to the address used on the payment, so odds are good you will receive your order as expected.
SECTION 8: PRIVACY & OTHER QUESTIONS SECTION 8: OTHER QUESTIONS
#1 Q: Can you re-knot one of your brush handles or a vintage handle? A: No, there are many guys on the forums that will do this for you. It requires a completely different skill set and tooling than which I possess. Sorry for this inconvenience, but it is just not part of my skill set. I simply have not figured out how to safely remove a knot.
#2 Q: How long do I have to pay for the brush once it is complete? A: Most people are excited to receive the brush ASAP. I prefer payment upon completion, but circumstances can certainly occur that would require delay of payment or cancellation of payment altogether. I am a family man myself and understand that things happen that have more immediate monetary attention and I am not offended at all. Just please contact me ASAP if something were to occur.
#3 Q: Privacy concerns. A: Privacy statement for data collection: This Privacy Statement of Wolf Whiskers LLC outlines how your personally identifiable information and other personal data (your “user information”) will be collected, used, and shared in connection with your access to and/or use of the Wolf Whiskers’ Waitlist or raffle content, features, services, or other offerings that Wolf Whiskers may provide in connection therewith. This Privacy Statement also describes your choices and rights regarding the use, access and correction or deletion of your user information. Whenever you contact Wolf Whiskers, you consent to the use of your user information in accordance with this Privacy Statement. If you are located in the EU, you will also be asked to provide clear and unequivocal affirmative consent to the collection, processing, and sharing of your user information via cookies and similar technologies. The Site is owned and operated by Wolf Whiskers.
Whenever you sign up on any waitlist, you must understand that your first name will publicly show and that is all. All other privacy data is only stored within the Waitwhile platform and/or stored internally and never shared in the cloud or shared to any entity beyond what is necessary for the purchase of your future shaving brush. Wolf Whiskers is not a marketing entity and never sells or gives away any data.....ever. That is my promise. Wolf Whiskers does not and never will collect or store your credit information. Payments are only accepted thru PayPal or Square and all data protections are provided internally within their platform.. Those Payment processors do, however, save your name and address information, but your credit card information is maintained safe within their platform.
No information other than your name, address, email and or phone number will ever be requested by Wolf Whiskers LLC.

RETURNS & REPLACEMENTS Returns are accepted within 7 days of the date you receive your order, i.e. your brush has been shown as delivered by USPS. Returned items must be in their original, unused condition and sent back at your expense unless it is due to my error. It is the responsibility of the customer to inspect your product for any unpleasing appearance and satisfaction of the color combination you requested. Please check that the knot does not incur any loose movement within the socket. Gently comb the knot with a wide tooth comb for loose hairs. It is expected and completely normal to have several so, don't panic. There are tens and tens of thousands of hair estimated between 70-90,000 just in a 24mm badger brush and more for larger knots. Also, inspect for any obvious defects in my craftsmanship or that the colors are acceptable to your eyes. Please know that if you apply water or shaving products or even clean your brush, you have decided to accept the quality of your brush handle. Please inspect your shaving brush before you do this.
Note these new policies: If I send an email with brush completion proof pictures and a follow up email and I haven't heard anything back from you within 4 full days, I will cancel the order or the invoice, if applicable, and offer the brush for general sale. I do not take offense. It is not a punishment. I just have limited time and must maintain a flow of income to provide for my family. Also, if a customer finds flaws in my handles, I can only make you a new handle. I do not offer that brush to you for a discounted price. The reason for this is simple. In the past, it has only served to encourage people to discover flaws in my work in exchange for a discount. I hope that makes sense. Lastly, I don't mind giving an order a second attempt if it isn't quite pleasing. No harm, no foul. That said, if I attempt to make things right for a customer with a second failed attempt, which are always my best and honest efforts, I must protect my limited time so that I can provide for my family. If my two honest efforts failed, I have a high degree of certainty, from my previous experience, that a 3rd attempt would also fail to be acceptable. At that point, I will encourage a customer to pursue a large shaving brush manufacturer who may have a higher degree of precision. I am simply too small and only an artisan. I am not a perfect man and cannot please everyone with my limited skills, so I ask you graciously to understand that we both have particular limitations in what we consider to be acceptable. We both must protect our limited time for ourselves and/or our family income sources. I don't do this as a penalty, it is simply a policy to protect my very limited time to create income and to spend with my family. This is the precise reason that I don't take any payments until after completion and acceptance of the order.
