Synthetic and Badger hair knots either in stock or that I can procure at this time.
You may be asking why I didn't add a description for each knot. Please remember, most knot attributes are completely subjective for the each person. Out of the box (dry and unshaped knots), the experience is very different than using it and breaking the knot in for months. Some of the community terms used in various forums (fora) are: Backbone, splay, bloom, flow-through, scritch, scrub, scrit, scratch, scritchnscrub, softness, density, foundation, foundation release, foundation channel, distortion, canopy, canopy distortion, canopy channel, TTL, Payload, floppy, stiff, and loft, and the hard to find "gel tips."
Confused yet? Everyone is, don't worry. I won't even pretend I could easily define some of these.
People are often looking for the "Holy Grail" of knots with all the traits they love and none that they don't. Often the traits they seek are diametrically opposed to each other. Please let me know if you ever find the perfect knot, I would love to find it myself. I also cannot answer the often received question, "What is your best knot?" I can't answer that because each person has their own preferences.
My descriptions and other customers' experiences may not translate to yours. It may be overwhelming and it is easy to overthink it. Some of the attributes also vary from one person to the next with the exact same brush depending on how each person uses the brush. I am only able to describe my experiences with the knots I have personally used. I can tell you my subjective thoughts when you ask, but they may not be the same as your experience.
Unfortunately, I cannot compare these knots with any other manufacturers There are just too many with which I am unfamiliar and some high end manufacturers make their own knots. I do not. I purchase pre-made knots and I make the handles.
I recommend that you don't overthink it, honestly. Every knot I set will perform and create lather. Do some research on the group forums, but don't give yourself a headache or lose sleep trying to find the perfect brush with the most perfect knot. It is different for every person.
Due to commercial importing and exporting fees required for animal hair, Wolf Whiskers can only ship brushes containing actual animal hair within the United States. I can ship synthetic brushes and handles only to all locations. See the FAQ page for further details.
